Green Hill Farm

Starting in the South West of England you will find Green Hill Farm, a beautiful site with award-winning toilets! There is much to do onsite such as fishing, walking, and bug hunting. There are plenty of electric hook-ups, hard standing pitches and you can choose from family areas to adults only. Pets are also welcome at this site. It’s a great base for exploring the great outdoors as it has direct access to the New Forest.

Salisbury Campsite at Bake Farm

Set on a large grassy meadow, Salisbury Campsite at Bake Farm in Wiltshire is brilliantly located for exploring, Salisbury, Stonehenge, the New Forest and the Jurassic Coast. The 123-metre spire of Salisbury Cathedral is visible from this site. This is a great spot for those who love walking. Here you have direct access to a good range of rights of way. Popular strolls in the area include the 25-mile-long Clarendon Way that runs from Salisbury to Winchester, hiking up Harnham Hill and ambling around Salisbury’s water meadows.

Where to visit

1. Visit Salisbury

Salisbury is a really popular destination for visitors looking for a camping, caravan or motorhome break. You can stock up on supplies at the town regular markets, explore the stunning countryside, visit Salisbury Cathedral, check out the local museums and of course take a visit to Stonehenge.

2. Visit Avebury Manor and National Heritage Site

Avebury Manor offer autumn/winter tours where you can find out all about the mysterious stone circle and then warm up with a delicious warming treat after.

3. Visit Stourhead

Owned by the National Trust, Stourhead is a truly beautiful 1,072 hectare estate at the source of the River Stour. The estate is 4km northwest of the town of Mere and includes a Grade I listed 18th-century Palladian mansion, the village of Stourton, gardens, farmland and woodland. Well worth a visit!

Upper Hurst Farm

If the Peak District takes your fancy then park up and stay at Upper Hurst Farm in Derbyshire. The views at this site are phenomenal and you are in a prime location to visit all four of the major Peak District market towns. They are open all year, including Christmas and New Year and the amenities at the site include state of the art shower blocks, Wi-Fi and 4.5 acres to take the dogs for a walk. Families and dogs are very welcome at this site.

The Royal Oak

The Royal Oak is a family-friendly pub site in the southern Peak District is only a 15-minute drive to Bakewell or Buxton and 20 minutes to Ashbourne. So it is a great base for exploring the Peak District. It boasts a large beer garden which is surely one of the most enticing phrases language has to offer? This is a great site whether you want to take part in energetic cross-country treks or laidback times back at base.
When you are in the Peak District it makes sense to go walking, you can find plenty of walks here.

1. Visit Bakewell

Bakewell is a famous town known for its Bakewell Tarts – try them here and you’ll definitely see a difference between the traditional and the sweet modern version! There is lots to do and the tourist information centre is filled with a wealth of local knowledge. Saunter through town or stop off for some pub grub, the choice is yours!

2. Visit Chatsworth House

Chatsworth House in the colder months is the home to many interesting workshops. From willow workshops and decoration making to touring the house and seeing it ready for the Christmas holidays. There is so much to see, do and eat here!

3. Visit Denby Pottery Village

Denby Pottery Village is open to the public all year round and is host to a factory outlet, gift shop, garden supplies, and a farm shop. There is a lovely café on site to warm up in if the weather is cold!

Daisy Bank Touring Park

Next up we have a beautiful site in Wales, Daisy Bank Touring Park and this one is just for adults! This is the perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing getaway for fans of walking and wildlife. The site boasts a putting green and has free wifi as well as an onsite shop for your daily paper. The site is also dog-friendly so you can take your pooch for a holiday too.

Lady Willington Camping and Caravan Site

Lady Willington is a site on a peaceful and very well-maintained seven-acre smallholding. A family-run and friendly park on the Welsh border, it boasts first-class vistas of the surrounding Shropshire countryside, squeaky clean amenities and even a suntrap of a terrace within a walled garden for serene sunbathing. The pitches are decent in size and all have their own water supply and electric.

1. Visit Powis Castle

No trip to Wales is complete without a visit to a castle and Powis Castle is magnificent! A beautifully kept medieval castle and gardens that will entertain you for hours.

2. Visit the Red Kite Centre in Rhayader

Wrap up warm and visit the Red Kite Centre in Rhayader where you will see the Red Kites in action, they are the most beautiful birds and can be seen all year round. It’s a real spectacle to see them all come into feed.

3. Visit Snowdonia National Park

Covering a great deal of North Wales, Snowdonia National Park extends inland from the coast between Penmaenmawr and Caernarfon by way of Bethesda, all the way to Bala Lake and Llanfairfechan. The park is considered one of the best places to visit in Britain for hiking and climbing. It offers plenty of extremely scenic mountain views. You can access this absolutely beautiful part of this area, as well as the summit of Snowdon itself, by the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which starts in Llanberis.

Norfolk

Deepdale

East Anglia has some of the most beautiful places to stay, Deepdale Campsite in Norfolk will provide you with a quiet location right by the sea. It’s a family-friendly site with 85 pitches, electric hook-ups and even underfloor heated shower blocks. The site is located on the North Norfolk coast, a place that you will never want to leave!

Mill Cottage

Mill Cottage is a tiny and warmly welcoming adults-only motorhome site in Sheringham. The site has a gorgeous cottage garden in a countryside location. Mill Cottage is in East Anglia’s spectacular coast-fringed county of Norfolk, in a super sweet spot near the sands and fun town centre of Sheringham. This spot is an easy half an hour’s walk to into Sheringham down a hill and through a pleasant woodland. Leisure-wise, pampering is a thing at this park too: Sharon is a certified beauty therapist and has a whole heap of beauty and relaxation treatments, from body, reflexology and Indian head massage to facials, nail care and more to give guests a chilled stay.

1. Visit the Norfolk Coastline

The Norfolk coastline is like no other and spending time there in the colder months will give you the most breath-taking views. Watch the waves crashing whilst sipping a hot cup of tea and you will be in your element.

2. Visit Norwich Cathedral

You have to see Norwich Cathedral a beautiful Norman cathedral that will impress you with its architecture.

3. Visit the Blickling Estate

Blickling Estate sits in a incredible garden and the mansion here is breath taking. Philip Kerr, the last private owner, helped shaped the National Trust’s history, using his influence to find a way of saving great country houses for future generations to enjoy. Outside, the formal garden is the result of three centuries of inspired planting, and the historic parkland is great for exploring. A perfect day out!

Finally, why don’t you think about going to the Lake District it’s stunning all year round and is an incredibly special place to stay. Lake District holidays are renowned for being expensive but by going in the colder months you can enjoy everything the lakes have to offer minus the price tag.

The Wellington Inn and Caravan Park

The Wellington Inn and Caravan Park is a family-run village pub site in rural northern Cumbria. In a great location it is only a 10-minute drive from Carlisle and 20 minutes from Gretna Green. If you’re looking for somewhere far from the crowds of the Lake District National Park yet close enough for scenic day trips, the quiet countryside to the west of Carlisle is full of nature reserves, forests and gorgeous coastline that might just be what you’re looking for.

The Meathop Fell Club

The Meathop Fell Club site is one to behold and offers all year round camping in a totally redeveloped site. Onsite amenities include shower blocks, accessible showers, a dog walk, and wifi. Families are very welcome here too.

1. Visit Lake Windermere

Lake Windermere is an absolute must! It’s the largest and arguably, the most famous lake in the district. You can enjoy a quiet amble around before popping into Windermere town for tea!

2. Visit the World of Beatrix Potter

The World of Beatrix Potter is a magical family Attraction bringing to life Beatrix Potter’s stories in recreation of the beautiful Lake District countryside. The exhibition features your favourite characters from the loved books, an award-winning outdoor Peter Rabbit Garden, a superb character-themed family-friendly café and world-famous gift shop. All generations of visitors can experience a little bit of Beatrix Potter magic here.

3. Visit Wordsworth House and Garden

If you love poetry visit Wordsworth House and Garden. This 18th-century Georgian town house was the birthplace and childhood residence of the English poet William Wordsworth. It is wonderful to be in the place where he was born and imagine him beginning his career of writing poetry. Here there is lots to take in and see and the gardens are a great edition too.
