All rates are quoted in British Pounds Sterling

Actual prices, restrictions, deposits, excess and conditions may vary depending on the vehicle selected.

All rentals may be subject to additional surcharges (e.g. for special equipment, additional drivers, young drivers, licence endorsements, accident or conviction record of driver, optional insurance, fuel etc.).

Total Charges include Damage Waiver (including Theft Protection), Third Party Liability, Road Fund Licence, unlimited free mileage for non-business users throughout mainland UK and VAT.

All rentals are subject to an insurance excess, which varies dependent on age and status of driver, vehicle type and use of vehicle.

A deposit may be required on commencement of hire subject to age and status of driver, vehicle type, payment method and use of vehicle.

Additional charges may apply for each additional authorized driver including spouses and domestic partners.

All drivers must be aged 21-75 however restrictions will apply to drivers under 25 or over 65. exceptions may apply depending on individual circumstances.

Renter in must continue to pay additional rental charges in advance and maintain any required deposit for the duration of hire.

All drivers must provide a valid drivers licence and photo id (passport or drivers licence) if the UK licence is the older paper style. Holder’s of current UK photocard driver licences must give authority for the endorsement status of their licence to be shared with Rising Brook Car and Van Hire and any expense incurred will be borne by the driver.Responsibility for this information being available to Rising Brook car and Van Hire at the point of hire will lie solely with the hirer/driver.  International driving permit required and passport is required with all non European licences if the driving licence is written in a language and / or in characters different to those of the renting country. one utility bill less than 2 months old must be presented. (additional checks may be required) please note, we reserve the right to request additional id or conduct further identification checks if needed. this may include an identity check with external partners who may check details supplied against databases to which they have access.

Please note that customers must give details to Rising Brook of any driving licence endorsements and history of any motor vehicle accidents or convictions prior to confirmation of any vehicle rental reservation. Failure to provide such details may result in the cancellation of rental and in such circumstances, no refunds will be given.

Failure to provide the correct documentation at the time of the rental will cancel the rental agreement and no charges will be refunded.

This online reservation facility (whether the reservation is confirmed or not) does not constitute a contract for the supply of vehicle rental services. A contract will be entered into at the time of rental and will be governed by the laws of the country of rental. You will also be subject to standard Rising Brook conditions as to capacity to drive. In the event that Rising Brook is unable to provide rental services, a full refund of the prepaid amount will be made.

Prepaid voucher showing a specified value will be accepted as a means of payment of the reservation charges at rental counters. The voucher is valid only for the dates and value specified.

All requests to amend a booking will be subject to normal availability of the requested vehicle and entirely at the discretion of Rising Brook .

For the avoidance of doubt no refund will be given if

a) You do not use any part of your reservation period; or
b) You change your booking and the charges for the Rental Services are less than the amount you paid for the original booking.

Changes to your booking are subject to the following restrictions:

a) If you change a booking and the charges for the rental services are greater than the original value of your voucher, you will be charged the difference at Rising Brook’s then-current rates and the additional amount will be payable at the time of modification.
b) If the cost of the changed booking is less than the cost of the original booking, no refund will be made.
Prices may change between the date of the original booking and the amended booking, in which case the later prices will apply


Customers may cancel a prepaid booking and receive a full refund* provided Rising Brook is notified, in writing within 24 hours of making the booking, subject to certain exceptions.** No refund will be given if a booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the time that the rental is due to commence.

*For cancellations of rentals of more than 24 hours but less than 7 days notice, a refund of 50% of the rental value will be made, less an administration charge of £20. No refund will be issued for rentals cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.

**Due to high demand for particular vehicles and during peak season or during public holidays, payments for some rentals will not qualify for refund on cancellation. Your agent will highlight this when your booking is confirmed to you.
Rising Brook will decline to provide rental services to Customers who are unable to provide the required documentation on collection of a hired vehicle and/or fail to declare details of driving convictions, previous motor vehicle accidents or convictions before booking under which circumstances no refund shall be made.

Unused days / No shows

There will be no refund for unused car rental days. There will be no refund if the customer fails to show for a rental that has not been cancelled prior to the start date.


Any hire extensions are subject to availability.

If a rental needs to be extended once the rental period has commenced, non-discounted rental rates and policies will apply for the additional days and the additional charges must be paid in full in advance of the expiry of the initial rental period.


Maintaining an adequate fuel level throughout the duration of rental is the responsibility of the hirer.

If a hired vehicle breaks down as a result of lack of or incorrect fuelling, any recovery or repair services required as a result will be charged to the hirer in full together with continuing rental charges for any off road period. Such costs and charges, fall outside of any deposit or excess applied to the hire agreement and are not covered by the insurance supplied by Rising Brook.

Vehicles must be returned with the same level of fuel at the end of any rental period as they were supplied with at the commencement of hire. If a vehicle is returned with less fuel than it was supplied with, a refuelling charge will be applied by Rising Brook to the customer.
