The Grande Punto lives up to its name and reputation by providing plenty of space in a good-looking, zesty package.

There’s now only one engine in the Grande Punto range, but the good news is that the 1.4-litre petrol unit was always the favourite when the range was more extensive. True, it’s not the quickest supermini out there, but what it lacks in outright pace it more than makes up for with a willing nature that suits the Punto perfectly. The Punto handles sharply, thanks to good body control, plenty of grip, and steering that responds quickly.
